Life & family

Paul Simonon is a British musician, singer, songwriter, and visual artist. He was the bassist of punk rock band The Clash. He was also a member of art rock supergroup The Good, the Bad & the Queen. Other members of The Clash included Topper Headon, Mick Jones, and Joe Strummer. Damon Albarn was also a member of The Good.

Paul is the son of Elaine Florence (Braithwaite), a librarian, and Gustave Antoine “Antony” Simonon, an amateur artist.

In the book Clash City Showdown, 2003, by Christopher Knowles, it was mentioned that Paul is descended from Belgian immigrants. Paul’s surname is Belgian.

Paul’s paternal grandfather was named Gustave Simonon.

Paul’s paternal grandmother was named Lilian/Lily G. N. Baker.
